Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Lima

Upon you arrival to Lima, you will be met and transported to your hotel in Lima, where you will spend a well-deserved overnight stay. * An extra day in Lima can be added upon request. Please let us know if you like us to add additional activities.

Day 2: Morning Surfing class & Lima City Tour (B, L)

After breakfast at your hotel in Lima, you will be met at your hotel by one of our representatives, and taken to the beaches of Barranquito and Macaja in Lima, to prepare for your surfing class. Once you arrive, you will have a brief explanation of the history of surfing in Peru, and the culture associated with it. At this point, you will begin a half an hour warm-up and simulation to get used to the board and receive specific instructions needed for your 1-hour class in the water. At the conclusion of your class, you will be taken back to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will embark on a tour of the city of Lima. On the City Tour, you will see the Spanish City Square, get a snapshot of the most important city sites, and visit a world-class museum to learn about pre-Inca cultures. Sites to be visited: Main Square, The Cathedral, Government Palace, City Hall, San Francisco Monastery (including catacombs), old streets with colonial houses, and a great driving tour through beautiful San Isidro and Miraflores. At the conclusion of your city tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Lima, for a well-deserved rest. * While in Lima, we highly recommend adding culinary activities such as cooking classes and tasting dinners in the best restaurants of Latin America, for more information check our Culinary site: taste-of-peru.com and ask our agents for more information. Day 3: Surfing Punta Hermosa, San Bartolo and Puerto Viejo (B, L)

After breakfast at your hotel in Lima, you will be met at your hotel by one of our representatives, who will escort you to the beaches about an hour south of the city of Lima. Upon your arrival, you will participate in a surfing briefing by one of our professional instructors, who will cover certain things you will need to know about the beaches, the history, and some safety tips. After your briefing, you will begin your surfing day, depending on the day and the ocean tides, our instructor will chose among Punta Hermosa, San Bartolo and Puerto Viejo. These beaches have been home to some of the very best surfers to come out of Peru, including a few World Champions. At the conclusion of your surfing day, you will have a chance to rest and relax before having a specially prepared lunch. After lunch, you will embark back to the city of Lima, and back to your hotel for the remainder of the night. * An extra surfing day in the south of Lima can be added upon request. Day 4: Second Surfing day & Pachacamac Tour (B, L)

After breakfast at your hotel in Lima, you will once again be met at your hotel, and taken on your second day of surfing the beaches along the southern coast of the city. On this day, you will be able to surf the remaining beaches which you were not able to surf the previous day, in and around the Punta Hermosa, San Bartolo and Puerto Viejo. As stated earlier, some of the very best Peruvian surfers who have gone on to become world champions, frequent these beaches, and it is not uncommon to run into some of them, throughout the year. For lunch, you will once again enjoy a specially prepared meal for you, in order to replenish your energy, after a day filled with great surf. At the conclusion of lunch, you will embark on your Guided private tour of Pachacamac. Pachacamac is a sacred place of trekking and ceremonies from the beginnings of the Christian age, and it is conveniently located 31km south of Lima. On this tour, you will see a set of pyramidal constructions and precincts of ancient pre-Columbian cultures and the Inka Empire. It is a great tour to view on the way back to the city, which will provide you with some historical reference to the Inca culture in the area which you will be surfing. At the conclusion of your guided tour, you will continue on back to the city and finish your day by being taken to your hotel. Day 5: Surfing Barranca and Centinelas Beach (B, L)

After breakfast, you will once again depart on yet another surfing tour, this time to northern beaches! You will have the pleasure of surfing on the Barranca and Cantinelas beaches, which are two of the most popular beaches in the area. After your surfing briefing, you will enjoy a full day of surfing some of the best breaks and swells of the area. At the conclusion of your surfing day, you will head back to the Lima, where you will have a chance to enjoy the remainder of your night at your leisure. Once again, dinner will be on your own today. * An extra surfing day in the north of Lima can be added upon request. Please let us know if you like us to add additional activities and meals.

Day 6: Optional Surfing in Lima & Back Home (B)

After your final breakfast in Peru, you will have time for an optional last surfing session prior to heading back home, please let us know if you like to add this option. Depending on your flight time, we will pick you up and take you to the airport, in order for you to catch your returning, flight home.

NOTE: Some people prefer to go directly to the sacred valley upon arrival to the Cusco Airport. Please let us know if you prefer that to send you an updated itinerary
