Start the Puno tour visiting the ruins of Sillustani in route to the hotel. This archeological site contains the famous chullpas, round burial towers built of stone, some standing as tall as 39 ft. They were used by the Collas and later by the Incas. Sillustani is also a good place to observe wild guinea pigs, birds and other wildlife of the high Andes. There is a small site museum.
