About the Festival
There are many gastronomic events throughout the world and all of them provide an invaluable opportunity to learn, discover, be in touch with what is new, or recognize new products, trends and flavors. Seen from this perspective, Mistura is just one more gastronomic fair on the world scene, but it is unique in its genre. Its peculiarity can be summed up in one word; inclusion. And that is how and why Mistura was founded. Along the fair you will be able to find the grand market, which is one of the most prominent sections of the fair, assigned to exhibit and promote the sale of emblematic products from all of the regions. Mistura also gave full credit to the role that small farmers play in our gastronomy.
Other sections are the Munaypan, from where you can smell the delicious aroma of fleshly baked bread. Prepare under one roof, more that 40 varieties of bread from all over the country. Also, the corner of flavors, where you could find the sensei’s of the sidewalk, of grab-and-go food. Among them the masters of sweets, the anticucho beef heart skewers, the picarones, cremoladas, tamales, cebiches, chowders, broths, sandwiches, juices and others.
The plumes of smoke were the best sign to follow and discover the ranges and grills section. The mutton on the spit and Chinese boxes full of pork, the earthy and hearty pachamancas and the plump lamb, or the now international cylinder grills. Another much concurred section is the festival price restaurants, which brought together the best know restaurants in Lima and the regions. One could find the most avant-garde gourmet proposal for a very cheap price.
We cannot forget about the cult restaurants, a special pavilion with the signature cooks of Peru´s gastronomy, the foremen and the Madonna’s who have become the legends of taste and seasoning.
Far from the fact that you can taste, smell and introduce yourself to a world of delicious food, Mistura stimulates competitiveness and recognize to the most talented and skillful representatives of our gastronomy. The cooking students, young cooks, chefs and aficionados, are able to attend the master classes, talks with some well-known chefs, round tables, etc. Definitely a gastronomic fair that will leave you more than satisfied.
