Many tours tend to forget about Lima on the way to Cusco. In our opinion,

the Incas by thousands of years, provides an excellent starting point
to better understand and appreciate the Inca cultures you will see
in Cusco.
Magical City Tour In the Morning-
In the City Tour, we will see the Spanish city center, get a snapshot
of the critical city sites, and visit a world-class museum to learn
about pre-Inca cultures.

houses, The Cathedral, and a great driving tour through beautiful
San Isidro and Miraflores.

4: Cusco – Huayllabamba
Transfer from the hotel to Km.82 where we will meet our porters and
equipment. We start our trek escorted by the porters through the semi-arid
terrain along the Urumbamba river with magnificent views of snow capped
mountains, until we arrive at Llactapata, where there is an extensive
archaeological site in a beautiful natural setting. Here we leave
the Urubamba and set off up the Kusichaca river to our first camp
site in the vicinity of the Huayllabamba.
|
DAY
5:
Huayllambamba – Pacaymallo
After a healthy breakfast we begin to walk to the Warmihuañusca
pass (4,050 m.). In a short time we will be on the top of the pass.
From this amazing view, it will be possible to see the other side
of the way that leads to Runkurakay ruins. At the end of a gorge,
we will stop at Pacaymayo, where we will spend our second night.
|
DAY
6:
Pacaymallo - Winaywayna
Leaving Pacaymayo, we will take a short zigzag ascent to the Runkurakay
circular ruins. There is no sign of human life, only great woods and
protruding hills. After a good rest, we will work our way down the
well preserved Inca Trail. We will arrive to the steps which go up
to Sayacmarca ruins (3600 m.)
From Sayacmarca, the stone road leads us into the jungle where we
will continue our trek toward the Phuyupatamarca ruins. The trail
crosses the "Lago Seco" (Dry Lake). We will cross "The
Tunnel", a natural cavity produced by a landslide but adapted
by the Incas. The Inca Trail borders moss and fern filled hills. After
crossing a small pass we shall see steep steps below the Ceremonial
Center of Phuyupatamarca ruins. Going down the trail we can see the
Urubamba valley and the river of the same name. The path goes down
to Wiñay Wayna ruins, the most important after Machu Picchu
and the site for our last camp.
|
DAY
7:
Winaywayna – Pacaymallo – Cusco
We will leave our camp site very early and head towards Inti Punku,
the last pass before Machu Picchu. From this site, the masterful ruins
look surreal and beautiful. We will take the day to vist Machu
Pichu. The group will take the buses from the ruins
to Aguas Calientes in the afternoon. The train goes back to Cusco
from the Aguas Calientes station. Arrival to Cusco and transfer to
your hotel.

Excursion to Sacred Valley (optional)
The Valleys surrounding Urubamba hold endless mysteries to the Inca
culture. The trip from Cusco offers a unique view of the regional
scenery, including spectacular mountain views. Many of our guests
have said the Sacred Valley was the most meaningful part of the program.
It was so important we made it a standard part of our tour.

the Urubamba Valley. - Chinchero; Ollantaytambo Fortress; great shopping
at the Pisac market.
