NOTE: We can accommodate groups of 10 or more traveling together for any other dates of the year.

We have adopted the Andean town of Huarocondo for our volunteer efforts because of their desperate need of infrastructure improvement. This program offers the volunteers the additional reward of being able to enjoy the spiritual marvel of Cusco.
Our work will focus on building a medical clinic for the town and the surrounding towns. Also, we will help painting and building other needed infrastructure, as well as providing clothing for the children of Huarocondo. The tour consider an overnight in Cusco ; and all domestic air and transfers, quality hotels in Lima and Cusco, breakfasts and lunches.
DAY 1: Departure
International flight, late night arrival and transportation to Condado Hotel - Miraflores.
DAY 2: Cusco
Early morning flight to Cusco – Cusco City Tour: After an early morning arrival, you will have a few hours to sleep and lunch at the hotel, we will embark on a tour of the magical city of Cusco, which will include the Inca ruins that surround the city and all the important sites downtown. Sites to be visited: Koriqancha (Sun Temple), Main Square, Cathedral, Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Your guide for the city tour will be Juan Cornejo, one of the keystones of this volunteer program who has strived with us to organize our work at Huarocondo.
Evening: You will enjoy a typical dinner at the Inka Grill Restaurant, as well as a live instrumental folk show.
DAY 3: THE TOWN OF HUAROCONDO
Early morning After breakfast at the hotel, a bus will pick you up for the trip to Huarocondo town. On the way to the town, we will visit the famous Pampas de Huarocondo, offering an amazing view with spectacular agricultural terraces of more than one thousand meters long and 100 meters wide. We will arrive Huarocondo after 52 km of paved road. Huarocondo boasts a beautiful Colonial Period church and a picturesque countryside. In Huarocondo, we will visit the Temple of Huarocondo, which is a monumental temple of the colonial times, being the most important construction of the town, finding paintings of the fine Cuzqueña school and gold work. You will arrive on a Sunday, every Sunday, the people of Huarocondo organizes a fair, whith folk dancers and traditional food such as their renowned “Suckling Pig” (roast pork).

DAY 4: HUAROCONDO
Morning: After breakfast, we will continue with our volunteer activities. Lunch will include typical food cooked by a special cheff.

Evening Folkloric dance classes and dinner. Overnight in Cusco.


DAY 5: RETURN TO LIMA
Morning After breakfast, we will leave Huarocondo and head back to Cusco. We will take you directly to the airport for the return trip to Lima, many will head home that same day as our program will officially be over.

Optional Trips
FULL DAY EXCURSION TO MACHUPICCHU,
THE LOST CITY OF THE INKAS

Morning Early wake-up to catch the 6 am train (Backpacker) which will transport you to the mystical Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. There are few words to describe this monumental experience. Our guide will provide you special insights about Inca astrology, anthropology and musicology. You will have this evening to relax and enjoy dinner on your own. We will offer restaurant recommendations.
Trip to Machu Picchu (see map) Train to “Aguas Calientes” & Guided tour of the Ruins, Temple of the Three Windows, The site of Intiwatana or the Sun Clock, The Sacred Plaza, etc.
Lunch in Aguas Calientes (the town below the ruins in the valley) at El Pueblo Hotel is included. During lunch you can stroll the hotel's beautiful botanical gardens on your own.
Dinner on your Own in Cusco (we will recommend restaurants)

FULL DAY EXCURSION TO THE SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS
Morning Tour After breakfast, we will visit the town of Chinchero, Ollantaytambo Fortress, and the Pisac market. The Valleys surrounding the Urubamba river hold endless mysteries to the Inca culture. The trip from Cusco offers a unique view of the regional scenery, including spectacular mountain views. Many of our guests have said the Sacred Valley was the most meaningfull part of the program.
