Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Bus to Huaraz & Overnight (S)

You will be picked up at your hotel and taken to the Lima bus terminal, where you will board your bus to the city of Huaraz. This bus ride is about 8 hours in length, and you will be able to enjoy a snack on board. Upon your arrival to Huaraz, one of our representatives will meet you and accompany you and take you to your hotel in Huaraz. *You can also consider taking a flight back to Lima. An extra day in Huaraz can be arranged upon request. Please let us know if you would like us to add any additional activities or meals.

Day 2: Yungay & Llanganuco Lagoon Tour (B)

After breakfast, you will embark on your guided tour of Yungay & Llanganuco Lagoon. On this tour, we will visit Yungay, where we will hear the story of how a debris avalanche, caused by the 1970 Ancash earthquake, buried the whole town, killing 25,000 people. Our next stop on the tour will be our visit to the Llanganuco Lagoon, which is characterized by the intense green turquoise color of its waters—a truly can’t miss opportunity. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Huaraz. *An extra day in Huaraz can be arranged upon request. Day 3: Chavin de Huantar Tour (B)

After breakfast at your hotel in Huaraz, you will be picked up and taken on your Guided Tour of Chavin de Huantar. This excursion to the ancient temple of Chavin de Huantar is arguably the greatest exponent of our civilization, with an extraordinary archaeological site of great cultural value. You will have the chance to appreciate all the invaluable remains, such as the Lanzon Chavin, the Heads “Cabezas Clavas”, among many others. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be taken back to your hotel. *An extra day in Huaraz can be arranged upon request. Day 4: Pastoruri and Puyas de Raimondi Tour & Overnight Bus to Lima (B, S)

After breakfast at your hotel in Huaraz, you will start your guided Tour of Pastoruri. On this tour, you will embark on an excursion to the Callejon of Huaylas visiting the Puya of Raimondi, considered to be one of the oldest in the world, and can be found in only a few isolated areas of the Andes. Afterwards, we will visit the Pastoruri, which is a must-see experience on this tour. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in order to get ready for the bus ride back to the capital. Once ready, you will be picked up and taken to the bus terminal in Huaraz, where you will once again take the 8 hour (approx.) bus ride back to Lima. (A snack will be served while on board.) *You can also consider taking a flight back to Lima. An extra day in Huaraz can be arranged upon request. Day 5: Arrival to Lima & Flight Back Home (B)

Once you arrive in Lima, you will be met and picked up at the bus terminal in Lima and directly to your hotel in Lima, where you will have day-use access to your hotel room. At this point, you will have the chance to enjoy breakfast at the hotel and rest for the day until your transportation back to the airport for your flight back home.* Please let us know if you like us to add additional activities and meals.

• Airport taxes: Local ($5-6) and International ($31) departure tax of payable in local currency by each passenger at Lima International Airport upon departure (if applicable)
• International and domestic airfares, usually quoted separately
• Insurance of any kind: mandatory evacuation insurance; suggested cancellation insurance, interruption, baggage loss, damage and delay
• Visas. Please be advised that some citizens other than Canadians and US may need visa to travel to Peru. Please advise us of your nationality to help you or check with the Peruvian Consulate
• Tipping & Gratuities (Guides $4 per person per day / Drivers $1 per person per day)
• Excess baggage charges
• Medical immunizations
