Day 1: Arrival to Lima
Upon your arrival to Lima Airport, our representative will meet you at the airport and take you to the Westin hotel in Lima.
Day 2: Lima City Tour + Shopping Tour + Gourmet Dinner (B,L,D)
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up and escorted for your much anticipated, guided, morning walking tour of the City of Lima. On your City Tour, we will see the Spanish city Square, get a snapshot of the most important city sites, and visit a world-class museum to learn about pre-Inca cultures. Sites to be visited: Main Square, Government Palace, City Hall, San Francisco Monastery (including catacombs), old streets with colonial houses, The Cathedral, Casa Aliaga and a great driving tour through beautiful San Isidro and Miraflores. At the end of the tour you will have a delicious typical Peruvian lunch at one of the best restaurants in Lima. After lunch, you will continue with a funny shopping tour, that we can customize on your requirements (groceries, art crafts, silversmith’s shops, art galleries, clothes shops). At the conclusion of your event-filled shopping tour, you will have a chance to rest and relax prior to dinner. For dinner, you will be once again picked up and escorted from your hotel in Lima to one of Lima’s finest restaurants: Costanera 700, where you will dine in an exquisite setting and enjoy some of the highest caliber of food available anywhere in Peru. You will have an eye opening dinner at the restaurant of the chef who was the first to merge the Japanese and Peru food cultures. This fusion is called “Nikkei”. The result was a wonderful Cuisine that takes the best of both worlds. You will try the Ceviche Costanera: a Japanese version of the traditional Ceviche prepared with Soy Sauce and Japanese spices, and other Nikkei dishes that will blow your mind. You will experience the Japanese and Asian influence in the Peruvian Cuisine. At the conclusion of your dinner, you will be taken back to your hotel in Lima where you will have the rest of the evening to relax. *Specialty Dinner can be changed to any other of our culinary dinners from our taste-of-peru.com site.
Day 3: Trip to Cusco + Transfer to Sacred Valley + Awanakancha and Pisac Market Tour + Tambo del Inca (for families) or Rio Sagrado Hotel (for couples) (B, L)
We will pick you up at the Westin Hotel and will transfer to the airport for the short, one-hour flight to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas, located at 11,100 feet above sea level. You will be met upon arrival at the airport in Cusco, and directly transferred to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will check in at your hotel and you will have some time to rest and allow your body to assimilate to the altitude and climate. We strongly believe it’s best to take it easy this day to let your body adjust to the altitude. Some find enjoying a cup of hot coca tea a real help in adjusting to the high elevation and that is what the locals traditionally use coca for. You will then visit Awanacancha, where you can meet native weavers and see South American camelid species, including llamas, alpacas, guanacos and vicuñas. Your children will have a lot of fun feeding animals. You will then continue to the Pisac Market, which has a wide variety of artisan arts & crafts and you will have the chance to see the many different products that the sacred valley produces. At the conclusion of your Pisac market tour, you will go back to your Hotel in the sacred valley to rest and enjoy your dinner. Dinner is on your own today as there are so many choices available either in, or near your hotel. *Depending on which domestic flight you choose you will have more or less time to rest.
Day 4: Hike Maras and Moray & Picnic in the Sacred Valley (B,L)
After breakfast at your hotel in the Sacred Valley, you will head to Maras for a quick tour of this colonial city. Then, we will take the bus to the top of the salt mines where we will begin our hike down through the salt mines. This is a unique 2 ½ hour hike, full of beautiful scenery and not overly challenging, good for kids. In order to ensure that your energy levels never drop, you will be provided with a delicious and nutritious snack before your hike. At the conclusion of your hike, you will have a picnic that will be prepared for you; which is more than just a Culinary Event, this is a unique experience. Feel the magic of having one of the finest meals in an impressive location. Enjoy an amazing lunch surrounded by the salt mines of Maras. This country picnic-lunch is prepared by the Chef of “La Cicciolina” restaurant, where he uses ingredients from the region, with a Mediterranean touch. At the conclusion of your picnic you will be bring back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley for the evening.
Day 5: Ollantaytambo Tour & Train to Aguas Calientes to Overnight

We then head out to the bustling market-town of Chinchero. The main sight to see at this location is a catholic church, with fine paintings from the Cusquenian School. At the end of the tour you will be taken to the train terminal in Ollantaytambo, where you will catch your train to Aguas Calientes. We recommend packing a small bag for this trip and we will send you luggage directly to your Cusco hotel.
